Job Summary
Confirm cases, meet patients, and coordinate with OR staff before procedures begin. Provide first assist support during surgeries, managing patient positioning, sterile fields, and surgeon needs. Assist with patient transfers and PACU handovers post-operatively while completing necessary documentation. Participate in clinical projects focused on education, training, and process improvement. Demonstrate willingness to learn new specialties including spine, robotics GYN, and orthopedics. Maintain current state licensure and NCCPA certification for PAs.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years of surgical assisting experience
- experience assisting in spine and robotics GYN and urology
- excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office, and EMR
- graduate of an Accredited Master's Degree program for Physician Assistant Studies for PAs, or a Master/Doctoral Degree Program in Nurse Practitioner Studies for NPs
- current state license where practicing
- National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs
- ability to lift, sit, stand, or squat
- Constantly seeing, hearing, and speaking
- Frequent lifting to 20+ lbs. in addition to bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling
