Job Summary
Surgical First Assist - PA in full-time role combines OR duties with Medical-Surgical floor coverage for General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedics. Responsibilities include managing orders, admissions, discharges, and consultations; flexible scheduling with 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour shifts; daytime and evening coverage with call. Compensation of $135k-$150k with a $5k signing bonus and relocation up to $7.5k, plus licensing/dues ($1k) and CME ($2k). Benefits include health insurance and retirement with 200 hours of benefit time and up to 7 holidays. Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital, St. Lawrence Health system (Canton-Potsdam area), NY. Required Qualifications
- Surgical First Assist experience in OR settings
- Active professional licensure/credentialing as a Physician Assistant (PA)
- Ability to manage orders, admissions, discharges, and consults in multiple service lines (General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics)
- Flexibility with shifts (4x10s or 5x8s) and coverage including day/evening with call
- Compliance with hospital policies and patient-care standards
- Ability to work in a team-based environment and provide continuous patient care
- Licensing & Dues processing support included by employer
