Surgical Department Charge - Medical Surgical - Term Full-Time

Surgical Department Charge leads and coordinates the delivery of safe, high-quality inpatient nursing care in the Surgical unit, oversees patient flow and bed utilization, assigns patient care, mentors staff, and provides after-hours leadership to Maternity and Mental Health departments. Combines clinical duties with administrative responsibilities such as admissions, transfers and discharges, supply management, staffing support, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Requires a Nursing degree with current registration, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, IV therapy and Central Line Care certifications, and a minimum of three years’ acute inpatient experience; possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced hospital environment. The successful applicant will hold a Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and be eligible for Yukon RN registration, with Yukon-specific certifications and a willingness to relocate if offered.
