Job Summary
Assist the dentist in clinical treatment of patients while ensuring high levels of patient attentiveness, understanding, and care. Maintain treatment room cleanliness and sterilization per OSHA regulations, securely store and handle patient records in compliance with HIPAA and state requirements, and promptly send and monitor dental laboratory cases. Track referrals to and from other doctors, ensure rooms are stocked, and help in other office areas such as answering phones, unpacking supplies, and completing insurance forms. Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited dental assisting program
- A minimum of 2 years, out of school experience in a clinical setting
- State certification to practice Dental Assistance, and meet all applicable state requirements
- Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., x-ray requirements, OSHA training)
- Strong computer skills (List of specific dental software(s) previously worked with)
- Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
- Leading with compassion and a commitment to the full patient care experience
Desired Qualifications
- Eaglesoft and/or Dentrix knowledge is a plus!
