Job Summary
Full-Time Surgical Dental Assistant needed to support Dr. Mellas in a private periodontal practice in Scottsdale, AZ. Responsibilities include assisting during oral and IV sedation procedures, instrument sterilization and room setup, taking IO scans or impressions and pouring models, radiology tasks (x-rays and 3-D scans), inventory management, coordinating with front office for continuing care and postoperative appointments, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Requires CPR and dental x-ray certifications; IV placement a plus. Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dental assistant in a surgical setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of Dentrix software and Dexis imaging systems
- CPR and dental x-ray procedures certifications; IV placement certification a plus
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss treatment plans and health concepts clearly
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Capability and willingness to take initiative and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic
- Front office capabilities considered a valuable addition to your skill set
