Job Summary
Educate and counsel patients regarding cataract, LASIK, and refractive procedures, discussing premium lens options, financing, and insurance requirements to support informed treatment decisions. Conduct consultations, verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and coordinate all aspects of surgical scheduling from pre-operative testing to post-operative follow-up. Convert qualified candidates into scheduled procedures while maintaining accurate patient records, managing payments, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and referring providers to deliver seamless care and support outreach initiatives. Maintain a professional work environment and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to educate, motivate, and build trust with patients
- Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to discuss premium surgical options, financing, and treatment recommendations
- Knowledge of cataract surgery, LASIK, refractive procedures, ophthalmic terminology, and medical office workflows
- Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and medical documentation
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with electronic health records, practice management software, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a collaborative team member
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and patient care
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- College degree including business-related courses
- Two years of proven sales experience
