Job Summary
Greet patients professionally, screen walk-ins, and schedule office and hospital surgeries with pre- and post-op follow-ups. Counsel patients on surgical procedures, insurance, and financial arrangements while preparing consent forms. Submit ASC schedules and paperwork accurately, maintain ledgers, and manage multiple tasks with strong organizational skills. De-escalate patient issues and ensure compliance with pre-op orders by contacting patients directly. Communicate effectively with referring doctors regarding co-pays, referrals, and payment policies. Requires high school graduation, two years in an ophthalmic practice, EMR experience, and flexibility for early mornings or evenings.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an ophthalmic practice
- Demonstrates high standards of professionalism and ethics
- Overall knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Exhibits good time management skills
- Committed to ongoing learning
- Reliability and dependability
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
