Job Summary
Bilingual Ophthalmic Surgical Coordinator to act as the main liaison among the patient, practice, surgical facility, and physicians, coordinating pre-operative education, scheduling, documentation, and care coordination for refractive laser and IOL procedures. Responsibilities include educating patients about resources and expectations, handling patient communications (phone, email, faxes), coordinating necessary medical records and ancillary tests, and supporting the surgery process. Requires 2–5 years in a healthcare setting and 2+ years in surgical or scheduling coordination (ophthalmology preferred), with strong communication, organizational, time-management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Two to five years of work experience in a healthcare setting
- Two or more years of surgical or scheduling coordinator experience (Ophthalmology preferred)
- Bilingual, advanced Spanish-speaking required.
