Coordinate and perform all designated aspects of organ recovery, preservation, and packaging in compliance with LifeLink policies. Prepare, brief, and assist operating room staff throughout the surgical workflow, ensuring a coordinated plan for recovery events. Set up and maintain the OR before, during, and after procedures, including post-mortem care, while demonstrating proficiency in sterile technique and infection control. Serve as the surgical first assist during donor organ recovery, supporting the lead surgeon in both sterile and non-sterile tasks. Operate and monitor machine perfusion systems to optimize organ preservation and assess viability, troubleshooting technical issues as needed. Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and chain of custody for organs and tissues, facilitating real-time communication with hospital, transplant, and medical examiner personnel. Maintain strict confidentiality of donor and recipient information while participating in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
