Job Summary
Surgical Attendant responsibilities include assisting patients to and from the operating room and surgical table, supporting patient positioning and surgical skin preparation, and assisting surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff during procedures. The role also covers transporting specimens, equipment, and supplies, assisting with cast and splint application, setting up patient positioning devices, disinfecting and preparing operating rooms between cases, restocking supplies, returning trays to appropriate areas, maintaining a clean and organized OR, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members. Requires minimum six months of OR/surgical experience and current BLS certification; strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff are essential. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in an operating room or surgical setting required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to assemble and utilize patient positioning equipment and other surgical support equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, coworkers, patients, vendors, and other healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and commitment to patient care
