Job Summary
Assist operating surgeons with intra-operative procedures including homeostasis, exposure, closure, and other technical functions to ensure safe procedures with optimal patient results. Develop specialized preoperative plans in coordination with surgeons and health team members. Prepare surgical tools and equipment, take preventative measures to satisfy health and safety regulations, and assist with patient positioning. Administer preoperative medications and report patient responses to assigned surgeons and anesthesiologists. This role requires a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSTFA) or RNFA, with certification preferred. Schedule includes Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, 40 weekly hours, one weekly call, and one weekend every 4-5 weeks. Salary range is $26.00 - $41.50.
Required Qualifications
- Eligibility to sit for the certification of Surgical Assistant exam
- Current registration through the applicable state board of nursing as a Surgical Technologist
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Position does require call which is once per week
- one weekend every 4-5 weeks
