Surgical Assistant

Job Summary
Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing instruments, monitoring patient vital signs, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Support patient care through postoperative education, follow-up instructions, and friendly communication while maintaining accurate documentation of encounters and controlled substance inventories. Maintain a clean clinical environment by stocking operatories, calibrating X-ray and Omni-cam equipment, and supporting monthly safety checks for crash carts and emergency preparedness. Work in a fast-paced dental office with occasional overtime and some travel for training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic life support certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Knowledge of oral surgery procedures
- Safety procedures required, including protection to minimize the risks from X-rays
- Potential long hours standing
Desired Qualifications
- some college
- Previous dental experience
- Experience as an oral surgery assistant or dental assistant
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
