Surgical Assistant I

Job Summary
Assist Surgeon during consultations and treatment; perform basic lab duties (Impressions, pouring up/trimming models); autoclave operation; surgical tray setup; instrument identification; room setup for IV anesthesia and surgery; seat patient and pre-op setup; review charts; nitrous oxide setup; assist with airway for sedated patients; circulate and retrieve instruments; provide excellent patient care and communication. Perform non-surgical tasks including restocking supplies, taking vital signs, handling administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and charting, and may take X-Rays. Ensure OSHA compliance and proper infection control. Office opening/closing responsibilities, greeting patients, and supporting overall office operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification required, may be able to obtain once hired
- Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required, may be able to obtain once hired
- Great organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances
- Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude
