Surgical Assistant I

Job Summary
Assist Surgeon during consultations and treatment; perform basic lab duties (Impressions, pouring up/trimming models); proper instrument cleaning per infection control and biohazard protocols; autoclave operation; surgical tray setup; identify instruments used in the clinic; room setup/breakdown for IV anesthesia and surgery; seat patient and pre-op setup; review charts; nitrous oxide setup; assist with airway for sedated patients; circulate and retrieve instruments; provide excellent patient care and communication. Also perform non-surgical tasks such as restocking supplies, taking vital signs, scheduling appointments, handling charting, may take X-Rays, and daily office opening/closing. Will travel between Billerica & Westford offices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT)
- Great organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances
- Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude
