Job Summary
Surgical Assistant duties include assisting surgeons during procedures and consultations, preparing operating rooms, instruments, and materials, and supporting patient care before, during, and after procedures. Maintain infection control, sterilization, and OSHA compliance; monitor patient comfort and safety; provide post-operative instructions and patient education. Requires experience in surgical, dental, or medical assisting and knowledge of surgical instruments/protocols; ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment; strong communication and professional bedside manner. CPR/BLS certification is preferred or willingness to obtain. Full-time role with opportunities for growth in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Previous surgical, dental, or medical assisting experience required
- Oral surgery or specialty surgical experience preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong communication skills and professional bedside manner
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
