Job Summary
Surgery Veterinary Technician responsible for supporting the surgical team and coordinating patient care in a fast-paced emergency/specialty setting. Responsibilities include managing appointments and medical records, invoicing and disclosures, preparing patients for surgery (shaving/scrubbing/positioning), assisting with intubation and radiographs, performing blood draws and submitting labs, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining operating rooms and instruments. Strong communication with surgeons and clients to discuss treatment plans and financial obligations is required. Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM; location: Norwalk, CT. Qualifications include veterinary experience, surgical exposure, and proficiency with drug calculations; a State Registered Veterinary Technician license is preferred. Required Qualifications
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
- Prior veterinary experience required
- Surgery experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions)
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
