Surgery Scrub Tech

Performs scrub duties in the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assisting the surgeon and nursing team to provide a sterile field. Prepares the room, supplies, and equipment; handles instruments, sponges, sutures, catheters, drains, and dressings while maintaining asepsis and safety. Cleans and sterilizes instruments, assists in transferring patients between units, and contributes to cleaning the OR and PACU areas. Provides care appropriate for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients; observes and reports patient status as required. Maintains confidentiality, follows aseptic procedures, and adheres to safety guidelines. Requires high school graduation or equivalent or graduation from an Operating Room Technician program; certification as an OR Technician is preferred; prior OR experience and OR technician training are also preferred.
