Job Summary
Surgery Scheduler handles scheduling and coordinating surgical appointments and related diagnostic studies across participating locations, maintains paper and EMR logs, verifies patient demographics/insurance/physician information, and communicates with patients, physicians, and facilities. Responsibilities include scheduling pre-operative testing, medical clearance, and post-operative appointments; processing referrals and authorization paperwork; updating calendars and EMR with patient information and test results; and maintaining accuracy in scheduling, patient service, and KPI performance. The role requires in-person scheduling duties at the Chalfont, PA office, strong organizational skills, medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with EMR and MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of work experience in a medical office setting with medical receptionist or surgical scheduling experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing, insurance regulations and ICD-9 and CPT coding desirable.
- Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
