Job Summary
Schedule emergent and routine surgeries, pre and post-operative appointments, and manage patient financial counseling to collect out-of-pocket expenses. Interfacing with patients, surgeons, referring providers, and vendors while obtaining insurance authorizations and pre-certifications. Ensure superior quality of care by managing medical clearances and referrals within the Electronic Health Record system. This full-time, M-F role at the Regional Hand Center requires bilingual English/Spanish skills and at least one year of surgery scheduling experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- MINIMUM of (1) year of Surgery scheduling experience
- Bilingual English and Spanish
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) HST/NextGen
- Prior experience with insurance verification, preauthorization
- Familiar with medical clearances as they relate to surgical patients
- Familiar with referrals, authorization, pre certifications, and eligibility
- Experience with patient financial counseling and collecting out of pocket expenses from patients and families
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, customer service, professional written and verbal communication skills
- ASC experience
- MA certification
