Job Summary
Coordinate surgeries, procedures, and follow-up appointments while managing referrals, diagnostic testing, and doc-to-doc scheduling. Handle insurance inquiries, obtain prior authorizations for imaging and procedures, and verify network status for specialists. Guide patients through preoperative requirements, collect pre-payments, and submit clinical and financial information to facilities. Maintain organized patient records, screen telephone calls, and provide shift coverage as needed. Ensure all paperwork is complete before scheduled procedures and file records confidentially.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two years of administrative assistant or surgery scheduling experience in a medical office
