Surgery Registered Nurse

Evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide patient and family education, and assume responsibility for patient preparation including intravenous therapy and surgical site verification. Participate in surgical site verification protocols, recognize and respond to patient emergencies, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices. Assess patient condition throughout your shift, document changes thoroughly, and round with unit leaders to ensure your voice is heard on patient care and workflow improvement suggestions. On-call is required during select non-business hours. This role is part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Johnson County's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center.
