Job Summary
Oral & maxillofacial surgeon role within the U.S. Army dental corps providing specialized surgical care to Soldiers and their families. Responsibilities include examining, diagnosing, and treating oral and maxillofacial conditions, research of military-relevant diseases, participation in medical education, potential command of medical units, patient care and health-promotion programs, and performing staff functions in health support. Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or combination DDS/MD acceptable to the Surgeon General
- Completion of ADA-accredited advanced specialty education program in oral & maxillofacial surgery
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (waiver may be requested)
- License to practice dentistry
- U.S. citizen
