Job Summary
Surgery team-focused role in a 24/7 emergency and multi-specialty hospital seeking a licensed veterinary technician. Responsibilities include managing appointments and medical records, invoicing and client discharges, filling medications and entering charges, creating patient releases, guiding clients through treatment plans and financial obligations, and preparing patients for surgery (shaving, scrubbing, positioning). Proficiently perform blood draws, submit bloodwork, assist with intubation and radiographs, and maintain documentation. Duties also cover operating-room turnover, instrument cleaning, and packing. Requires a state license, prior veterinary and surgery experience, strong calculations skills, flexibility for extra hours, and excellent communication skills. Required Qualifications
- State Licensed Veterinary Technician license required
- Prior veterinary experience required
- previous surgery experience required
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
