Job Summary

Evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues in hospital radiology environments, implementing appropriate repairs and completing preventative maintenance on designated devices. Perform safety and environmental inspections ensuring compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines while maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up. Complete necessary service documentation, learn proper tool and test equipment care, and mentor more experienced technicians on progressive repairs. Identify and report customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.

Required Qualifications

  • AS, BS degree, military education, certificate program, current student with less than 12 months from completion OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT or mechanical equipment
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
  • Must successfully complete GE HealthCare background checks, post‐offer drug testing, and ongoing customer access requirements, including required immunizations (obtaining and/or providing proof), additional drug tests/background checks (including a federal government background check if assigned to support a contract with the federal government), and site‐specific compliance protocols
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 35 pounds unassisted and perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex and extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities may include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with demonstrated work experience, or a completed AS or BS degree strongly preferred
  • Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and perform effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to-understand manner
  • Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process
  • Change agent and process oriented
  • Local candidates strongly preferred
  • Candidates who are open to relocation may increase their chances of placement into a full-time internal role
