Job Summary
Provide individualized nursing care to surgery and embryo transfer patients while functioning independently and seeking physician direction as needed. Complete patient assessments, document interventions and responses, and prepare supplies for surgical procedures in the OR and PACU. Demonstrate sterile technique, perform instrument cleaning, and teach patients regarding their care plans. Coordinate chart reviews to ensure consent forms are complete, communicate patient conditions to providers, and manage emergent situations using emergency procedures. Perform post-op calls, discharge patients to appropriate housing, and arrange hospital transfers when continuing medical care is required. Assist with QI and research as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher, in Nursing from an accredited school
- State Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification
- 3+ years nursing experience in other RN roles
- 1+ year(s) experience related to operating room, PACU, or critical care
- Laparoscopy experience
- Monday through Friday schedule
- Start times of 6:30-8am
- Some weekend and holiday commitment in rotation with other staff members
- Non-benefitted PRN position with no guaranteed hours/week
