Surgery Assistant

Greet patients and visitors courteously, then assist the peri-operative team in pre-op and post-op tasks as directed by surgeons, anesthesia providers, or nurses. Move patients from monitors into the surgery suite, hook them up to monitors and oxygen, and help with operating room turnover and room closure. Perform site prep, stock the nourishment refrigerator, provide patient nourishment as directed by the RN, and make pre- and post-operative phone calls. Maintain infection control guidelines, empty trash, put away supplies, and report any malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor. Ensure surgery flows smoothly by completing all duties assigned while adhering to safety protocols in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
