Job Summary
Perform surgical shave preps, transport patients safely, and provide comfort measures while maintaining a sterile environment. Assist the OR team by expediting room turnover, managing linen supplies, and ensuring readiness of stretchers and beds. Handle specimens accurately, dispose of sharps per policy, and decontaminate instruments. Perform daily sterilizer quality controls, ensure cases have necessary supplies, and deliver age-appropriate care. Utilize phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, and 12-lead ECG skills. Requires high school education, NBSTSA certification preferred, and experience with AORN standards. Full-time role with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School graduate or Equivalent
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and adapt to different situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Certification from NBSTSA preferred
- Knowledge and background in surgical procedures, instruments, equipment, supplies, infection control, AORN standards and medical terminology preferred
- Working knowledge of hospital environment or experience in surgical setting encouraged
