Job Summary
Army General Surgeon leads the Army Medical Corps surgical team, performing surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their family members; participates in continued education, trainings, seminars, and conferences; supports humanitarian missions; opportunities for leadership training and access to state-of-the-art equipment; potential accession bonus and special pay as a physician; STRAP support for residency participants; FAP for active duty enrollment; travel opportunities within the United States and internationally; enrollment in retirement systems; must hold an MD or DO and a current U.S. medical license; requires completion of GME internship and general surgery training; U.S. citizenship to serve on Active Duty; Beverly Hills, CA location.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
- Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
- Completed at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship
- Completed a training program in general surgery
- U.S. citizen to serve on Active Duty
- Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
