Job Summary
Lead the Surfacing Department by planning, programming, and delivering works for key clients and external customers across Gisborne. Coordinate site crews, plant, materials, and subcontractors to maintain safety, quality, and on-time delivery while overseeing project planning, resource coordination, reporting, claims, and programme performance. Manage pricing and delivery for external works, ensuring strong financial performance and high standards without excessive red tape. Build a team culture rooted in straight-up communication, safety, and respect, backing people to deliver good work right the first time. This role requires at least five years in civil construction and two years in project or department management, with a Class 1 driver's licence. Based in Gisborne for 40 hours per week, you will join a flat, forward-moving team focused on honest conversations and genuine community impact.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in the civil construction industry
- 2 years' experience in a similar project / department management role
- Strong commercial, financial and operational acumen
- Ability to lead people and manage competing priorities
- Class 1 driver licence
- WTR preferred
