Surface Water Engineer - Associate to Senior Associate Level

Job Summary
In this role, you will undertake surface water assessments and designs, lead flood risk assessments and hydrological modeling, manage multidisciplinary projects ensuring quality and client satisfaction, and prepare high-quality environmental assessment reports. You are required to have extensive experience in water resources engineering, knowledge of Australian water management frameworks, and proficiency in relevant software for modeling and design. You will also mentor less experienced engineers, drive innovation in climate change adaptation and sustainable water management, and collaborate on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, ideally with a postgraduate qualification in water resource management
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in water resources engineering with a strong track record in project delivery
- Civil engineering, especially stormwater management infrastructure detailed design experience
- In-depth knowledge of NSW and Australian water management frameworks, guidelines, and permitting processes
- Proficiency in software used for hydrology models (e.g., RORB, XP-RAFTS, WBMN, AWBM) and hydraulic models (e.g., TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM/STORM, DRAINS)
- Proficiency in GIS and CAD software (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) and/or exposure to AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Experience in leading or undertaking flooding, drainage and water quality studies for environmental assessments and infrastructure design projects
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in erosion and sediment control is highly desirable
- CPEng or equivalent industry recognition will be an advantage
- Previous Dam Break and Consequence Category Assessment (CCA) related experience is highly desirable
