Job Summary
Conduct sandblasting, anodizing, chromate, passivate, etch, and paint operations on mechanical components while measuring and gauging parts to ensure quality adherence. Maintain ongoing compliance with Health and Safety practices including EHSS, WHMIS, area hazard assessments, and PPE. Follow drawings, Work Instruction packages, and specifications to achieve efficient and safe product quality. Keep work areas clean and organized. Work Sunday, Friday, and Saturday shifts (12 hours/day, 36 hours/week) with a weekend shift bonus and shift premium. This role supports Raytheon ELCAN's production of high-precision optical systems for aerospace and defense missions.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical ability to read blue prints, sketches, interpret drawings and geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of various pieces of metrology equipment. Ie. Calipers, gauges, micrometers. etc.
- Understanding of quality systems
- Effectual interpersonal leadership and communications skills
- Proficient in using basic computer programs and applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to lift approximately 30lbs and repetitive lifting of 15lbs or less
- Proven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
- Highly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience
- Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada
- Resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years
- Successful security screening per the Controlled Goods Regulations and the Contract Security Program
