Surface Maintenance Mechanic

Inspect, maintain, and repair surface mobile equipment (loaders, forklifts, trucks, service vehicles, and support equipment); perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hoists, winches, and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; maintain and repair material handling systems (conveyors, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, bins, chutes, pumps, crushers, and screens); diagnose faults and complete repairs, including component replacement and adjustments; operate forklifts and mobile lifts; weld, cut, and light fabricate on carbon steel and stainless steel for guards and supports; test functionality and reposition machinery; conduct routine inspections and report unsafe conditions; read and interpret manuals, schematics, work orders, and maintenance documentation; coordinate with operations, contractors, and maintenance team members to minimize downtime; follow safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures and regulatory requirements.
