Job Summary
Surface Maintenance Mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment (loaders, forklifts, trucks, service vehicles, and support gear). Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, maintains material handling systems (conveyors, belts, gearboxes, pumps, crushers, and screens), diagnoses faults, and completes repairs including component replacement, adjustments, and rebuilds. Operates forklifts or mobile lifts from designated locations, conducts welding and light fabrication on carbon steel and stainless steel for guards and supports, tests functionality, and verifies repairs. Reads manuals, schematics, and work orders; coordinates with operations, contractors, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime; adheres to safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements. Requires ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and overtime as needed; HS diploma or two years of relevant experience; welding and material handling system experience preferred. Required Qualifications

- Basic use of a computer
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
- Welding experience and strong troubleshooting skills
- High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years of equivalent work experience
