Job Summary
Surface Maintenance Mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment (forklifts, loaders, trucks, service vehicles, and related gear) and material handling systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; diagnose faults; weld and fabricate in carbon steel and stainless steel; operate equipment to test functionality; coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime; follow safety policies including lockout/tagout; read manuals and schematics and adhere to maintenance documentation. Requires English communication, basic computer skills, physical ability to perform demanding tasks, and overtime as needed. Preferred qualification includes High school diploma/GED or two years of equivalent experience and welding and material handling system experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to perform physical job duties, which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts, with advance notice
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
