Job Summary
Surface Maintenance Mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment (including forklifts, loaders, trucks, and service vehicles); performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; repairing material handling components (conveyors, belts, gearboxes, pumps, crushers, screens); diagnosing faults and completing repairs; operating forklifts; welding and light fabrication on carbon steel and stainless steel; reading manuals and maintenance documentation; coordinating with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime; following safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures; and ensuring safe operation of equipment in varied indoor/outdoor conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of PPE
- Ability to perform physical job duties, including bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
