Job Summary
Surface Maintenance Mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment (loaders, forklifts, trucks, and service vehicles).Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hoists, winches, and mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Maintain and repair material handling systems (conveyors, belts, gearboxes, bins, chutes, pumps, crushers, and screens). Diagnose faults, replace components, and perform adjustments and rebuilds. Operate forklifts and mobile lifts, conduct welding and light fabrication on carbon steel and stainless steel for guards and supports. Safely test functionality, reposition machinery, and verify repairs. Conduct routine inspections, identify unsafe conditions, and follow lockout/tagout and regulatory safety requirements. Read and interpret manuals, schematics, work orders, and maintenance documentation. Coordinate with operations, contractors, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to perform physical job duties, which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts, with advance notice
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
