Job Summary
Surface Maintenance Mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment (loaders, forklifts, trucks, service vehicles, and related equipment); perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hoists, winches, and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; maintain and repair material handling systems (conveyors, belts, gearboxes, pumps, crushers, and screens); diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and complete repairs; operate forklifts and mobile lifts, perform welding and light fabrication on carbon steel and stainless steel; read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders; coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime; adhere to safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of PPE
- Ability to perform physical job duties, which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts, with advance notice
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
- High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years of equivalent work experience
- Welding experience and strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with material handling systems and mobile equipment preferred
