Job Summary
Surface Maintenance Mechanic responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing surface mobile equipment (forklifts, trucks, service vehicles) and related systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hoists, winches, and mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components; maintain material handling systems (conveyors, belts, gearboxes, pumps, screens); diagnose faults; operate equipment; weld and fabricate on carbon steel and stainless steel; conduct safety-compliant testing and inspections; read manuals, schematics, and work orders; coordinate with operations and contractors to minimize downtime; adhere to lockout/tagout and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of PPE
- Ability to perform physical job duties, which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts, with advance notice
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
- High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years of equivalent work experience
- Welding experience and strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with material handling systems and mobile equipment preferred
