Job Summary

Prepare and issue various types of contract and commercial bonds, including consents of surety, riders, and bond ability letters. Analyze client financials, collect pertinent customer information, and evaluate risk based on established criteria. Maintain accurate files in agency management systems and surety software while coordinating underwriting information to keep client files current. Review accounting history, respond to inquiries, and correct discrepancies on aged receivables. Confirm bonds are issued in compliance with lines of authority or submit them for surety approval. This on-site role in Raleigh, Charlotte, or Nashville offers a transition to a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) after training. The position requires a Property and Casualty insurance license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days, along with 2+ years of surety bond experience and bookkeeping knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of surety bond experience
  • general working knowledge of bookkeeping principles
  • Valid Property and Casualty insurance license or the ability to obtain a license within 90 days of employment
  • A proven ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong organization/communication skills
  • ability to develop relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience effectively managing multiple tasks and making decisions with limited oversight
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Foxit)
  • BA/BS degree
