Job Summary
Lead a team of approximately 14 automated equipment operators on the second shift, overseeing productivity, quality, and production schedules. Review engineering specifications and orders to dictate manufacturing methods, ensuring operators meet safety, production, and cost targets while administering relevant policies. Relentlessly drive operational improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement strategies by partnering with Engineering. Schedule production for high-quality, on-time delivery and balance individual accountability with a collegial environment. Requires a Lean or Six Sigma Yellow Belt, minimum three years of supervisory experience, and five years in manufacturing. This second shift role supports Bal Seal's advanced sealing and connecting solutions across medical, aerospace, and industrial markets.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Lean or Six Sigma Yellow Belt
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive and relevant supervision experience in a related field such as manufacturing, medical devices, industrial, aerospace, or automotive
- Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing process experience
- Strong leadership experience in diverse manufacturing environments
- Experience with complex scheduling
- Good leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to determine the scheduling and line placement of various assembly work orders using available business information
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tool designs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems at their root, independently or as part of a team
- Understanding of continuous improvement practices, and able to lead others to complete improvement projects
- Ability to delegate duties as needed
