Job Summary
Supervise Pathology Services operations at Tacoma General Hospital. Responsible for direct supervision of Histology and Cytology Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and Pathology Assistants; ensure regulatory compliance; assist in planning department goals, objectives and policies; perform clinical testing on specimens as ordered by physicians. Requires travel to various locations within Puget Sound.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree
- HT (ASCP) certification
- Five (5) years as a Histology and/or Cytology technologist
- Three (3) years general lab experience in a leadership position
Desired Qualifications
- HT (ASCP) certification
- Bachelor of Science degree; MBA or equivalent advanced business degree preferred
- five (5) years as a Histology and/or Cytology technologist
- three (3) years general lab experience in a progressively responsible leadership position
- experience in a large outpatient or reference laboratory setting using network-based LIS and HIS systems and PC based software
- ability to travel to various locations within the Puget Sound
