Job Summary
Supervise the Communications Unit staff, assigning work and ensuring day-to-day activities are completed efficiently within established policies. Coach personnel on proper performance while providing direct technical assistance and evaluating employee potential to maintain a high-performance environment. Coordinate the exchange of crime information data, monitor the unit operating budget, and carry out major assignments affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Perform other related duties as assigned, including Transit Ambassador roles. Requires flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a criminal justice environment
- College level education
- Certification through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) with a full certification as a Terminal Agency Coordinator within six-month probationary period
- Must obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within 30 days of employment
- Official investigation into applicants' background including a criminal history records check
- Physical examination, including drug/alcohol screen
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of college
- Previous public safety communications experience
