Job Summary
Supervise bus operators, dispatchers, and yard operations to ensure compliance with safety rules and schedule adherence. Monitor, control, and direct the movement of all buses in and out of revenue service using MARTA's AVL System and radio communications. Investigate accidents, analyze operational reports, and establish re-routes for adverse conditions or service disruptions. Take immediate corrective action on emergencies, equipment malfunctions, and incidents by coordinating with maintenance, police, and senior management. Coach personnel on performance and interpret management policies regarding operating practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Business Management or related field
- Four years of transportation and/or management related experience
- Extensive knowledge of transit system, rail/bus system, and overall transportation services
- Bus Standard Operation procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Analytical skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Experience in union environment
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of internal transportation related and/or internal professional development training
- Knowledge of AVL APC
- Coordination during special events
- Development of operation plans
