Job Summary
This role involves conducting comprehensive inspections of emergency lighting systems on a college campus to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. The Special Hazards Systems Inspector will also assist senior inspectors with fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections. Key responsibilities include identifying and documenting deficiencies, developing and maintaining inspection schedules, and communicating findings with college campus representatives. The position requires excellent attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in fire safety systems inspections, or related field, preferred
- Strong understanding of safety principles and safe work practices
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build positive relationships
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards relevant to emergency lighting systems is a plus
- Proficient in using computer software for data entry and report generation
