Job Summary
Provide individualized employment support to people with developmental disabilities and/or autism to help them achieve competitive employment; focus on job development, placement, coaching, and long-term employment success through person-centered planning, community partnerships, and ongoing mentoring. Responsibilities include developing tailored employment plans, assisting with resume development and interview preparation, job readiness training, identifying and pursuing competitive employment opportunities, conducting employer outreach, coordinating job placements and onboarding, on-the-job coaching and mentoring, maintaining progress follow-ups, collaborating with families and care teams, ensuring compliant documentation, and staying informed about employment laws and best practices related to disability employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma is required; College Degree preferred
- Proven experience working with people with developmental disabilities, preferably in employment or social services settings
- Knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to individuals with disabilities
- Strong understanding of workforce development strategies and inclusive hiring practices
- Excellent interviewing, mentoring, and training skills to support client growth
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, the people we support, and their families
- Ability to accept and work within a wide variety of cultural, educational, and religious differences
- Passion for ADAPT's mission and demonstrates a commitment to the non-profit disability sector
