Job Summary
Provide direct support based on individual goals by teaching skills, encouraging independence, and promoting employment-related learning and community integration. Advocate for self-determination while ensuring safety and complete accurate, Iowa Code–compliant documentation in Setworks. Support individuals in job development and retention, including applications, interviews, coaching, employer communication, and transportation to job sites. Collaborate with Direct Support Professionals, Programmers, Supervisors, individuals-served, and their families to ensure the best possible care. Participate in cross-training, vocational program decisions, and community integration activities while maintaining flexibility for scheduling, weekends, and additional duties.
Required Qualifications
- 18 Years of Age
- Driver's License
- Reliable Transportation
- Proof of automobile insurance covering $100,000/$300,000/$50,000 liability coverage
- Ability to obtain diploma or equivalent representing high school education
- Work Authorization: Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to use a two-person lift, mechanical lift, or assistive equipment for lifting more than 35 pounds
- Ability to remain awake during working hours
- Ability to wear hearing and eye protection
- Ability to see objects/persons at a distance
- Ability to see close work such as typed or handwritten material
- Ability to hear conversations in a quiet and a noisy environment
- Ability to determine where a sound is coming from
- Ability to hear differences among bells, buzzers, beeps, horns, etc.
- Ability to communicate through speech
- Ability to drive and transport for service provision if needed
