Job Summary
Supported Child Development (SCD) Community Consultant provides consultation and mentorship to childcare centres and SCD Assistants in the South Okanagan/Similkameen, develops and implements individual service plans for children with developmental delays, conducts observations and assessments, maintains documentation, and collaborates with families and community partners to support inclusive practices. Responsibilities include consulting with families, supporting transitions to other programs, providing staff training and feedback, facilitating team meetings, coordinating referrals to community resources, and working travel within the South Okanagan/Similkameen region. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least three years of experience in inclusive childcare settings, strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a valid BC driver’s license. The role emphasizes family-centered practice, cultural competency, confidentiality, professional development, and adherence to OneSky policies and procedures. Working conditions include travel within the region and an in-person work arrangement in Penticton, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or early childhood development or an early childhood development related field (Child and Youth care, Psychology, Social Work, Education)
