Job Summary
Provide person-centred support to individuals living with disability, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported in their everyday lives. Deliver respectful personal care and daily living assistance while supporting participants overnight to ensure comfort and safety. Build trusting, caring relationships through consistent and compassionate support within a home environment. This casual role offers a variety of shifts including overnight and weekend work to suit your lifestyle, with 24/7 care coverage. A minimum qualification in Individual Support or Community Services is desirable, along with a current valid Driver's License and satisfactory Police Records Check. Wellways is a leading not-for-profit mental health and disability support organisation operating across Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, and Tasmania, reaching more than 7,000 people annually.
Required Qualifications
- Evidence of working rights within Australia such as a passport or birth certificate
- A current valid Driver's License and an insured and registered vehicle
- Satisfactory Police Records Check
- Blue Card and NDIS Workers Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Comfortable working overnight and weekend shifts
- Genuine willingness to learn
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting people living with mental health challenges
- Previous experience working in disability, community services or mental health
- Life experience, including experiences gained as a carer, parent or through supporting others
- Minimum Qualification in Individual support/Community Services
- Experience in mental health highly regarded
