Job Summary
Support Worker for a Canada Summer Jobs placement in Coquitlam, providing direct care and support to individuals with various abilities in day-program and community settings. Responsibilities include following individual care plans, assisting with personal protocols, transporting individuals to appointments and activities, completing daily documentation, hospitality duties (cleaning, cooking, laundry), working as part of a team to maintain a safe, inclusive environment, and coordinating leisure/recreational activities. Ideal candidates communicate effectively, are compassionate and energetic, and comfortable supporting adults with physical, developmental, mental health issues, and/or acquired brain injuries. The program runs 8 weeks (June 1 to August 29, 2026) at 30 hours/week, with compensation of $21.00/hour. Additional details include employer-paid criminal record check clearance, paid orientations and trainings (First Aid, CPR, etc.), flexible schedules, and inclusive, supportive work culture. The right candidate should have experience with Behavior Management, Personal Care, and Medication Administration, and 1-2 years of experience with various disabilities listed in the posting. Required Qualifications
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age at start of employment
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee protection conferral under IRPA
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Class (5) BC driver's license or Government-issued ID
- Minimum of one year in university/college
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Negative TB Test
- Food Safe
- First Aid/CPR C
