Job Summary
Provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent, on breaks, or completing planning time while supporting classrooms throughout the school based on daily staffing needs. Assist Lead Teachers with routines, learning activities, transitions, meals, naps, and outdoor play by engaging children in meaningful, age-appropriate experiences and maintaining a warm, positive environment. Follow established schedules, lesson plans, and health, safety, and licensing procedures while supervising children closely and helping maintain cleanliness and organization. Build positive relationships with children, families, teachers, and school leadership. Work part-time from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in a collaborative early childhood team that values teamwork and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet all Maryland childcare licensing requirements for the position
- Must successfully complete required background screening and employment requirements
- Ability to lift and carry young children and actively participate in classroom activities
- Willingness to complete required professional development and training
Desired Qualifications
- Previous childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood experience
- Early Childhood Education coursework or certifications
